The documentary also handles the space race between the USA and the Soviet Union. It roughly says this: Khrushchew is working as the secretary general. His main goal is to ensure that the population of the Soviet Union is fed and that the other basic needs of the population are met. A space race with the USA that is going to cost a significant part of the Soviet Union's budget is not coming at the right time. That's the least you could say about it.
