To clarify: the GPS works fine but WAAS wasn't too useful in this area. https://www.garmin.com/en-US/aboutgps/waas/ "For some users in the U.S., the position of the satellites over the equator makes it difficult to receive the signals when trees or mountains obstruct the view of the horizon. WAAS signal reception is ideal for open land and marine applications. " I haven't experimented in a dew years but I can turn WAAS/GLONASS on or off and I never saw any improvement. Trees and mountains are part of my life.
