It took a while. It was the early '70s when we went to Quebec city on our
honeymoon. On the way up I was cruising at 90 to 100 mph in the Lincoln
while my bride napped. Quebec city is probably the closest thing to an old
European city you can find in North America and a Lincoln (5400 lb
behemoth) wasn't quite suited so I rented a Dodge Colt, a rebadged
Mitsubishi. When I exceeded 25 mph my bride made very strong suggestions
about slowing down.

A few years later a friend borrowed a Honda when her Saab was feeling ill.
She described it as driving two motorcycles loosely strapped together.

Forward about 10 years and when I went into a Honda dealership I had the
feeling they were trying to decide if I was worthy.
