There is something to be said for driving a large beater in places like that. In the '90s I took a break from programming and drove OTR. I't amazing the people who would try to play chicken with a semi in their BMWs or Mercs. The best part was in the freeway construction zones that bottlenecked down to one lane and they would try to jump ahead. Truckers didn't even have to coordinate over the CB to block them completely and force them on the shoulder.
