I just found out the hard way that Thunderbird apparently does not keep past messages despite being configured to "Don't delete any messages" and the two sources I have - Eternal-September and news.individual.net only store the last few years worth. I tried getting a message from 2022 and got "A News (NNTP) error occurred: Bad article number" -- John H. Reinhardt
