Doing whatever I want in GTA didn't seem to be advancing the story line, if there is one. In AC if I started a sword fight I'd be the one who got killed. Anna Mocikat worked in the games industry before moving to the US and becoming a cyberpunk author. Her major work is the 'Behind Blue Eyes' series but she also has a 'Cyber Squad' series. That one is self- referential since it treats the BBE universe as a video game and the cyber squad are the QA people testing the game. She works in the terminology and techniques of game design. It isn't my favorite of her works but the insider view was interesting.
