Dunning-Kruger. Half the time I'm in fake it till you make it mode. There are things like dbus that I give a wide berth to. For that matter I'm not too sure what freedesktop does for a living other than Fedora updates it frequently. As long as it works I don't care if it's init.d, systemd, Xorg, Wayland, or any of the other stuff some people get exercised about.
