There maybe more details on Shimano’s site this is an opinions piece.

I’d suspect that it’s not aimed at folks into bikes as such but ones who
use it as a tool?

My main commute bike has 1-10 set up and it’s nice and easy kinda brain
free operation, the other bikes have a double so occasionally can be in the
wrong chain ring which is slightly tedious.

So I’m likewise unlikely to be interested personally. For that I’d be more
inclined to the E motor systems if I ever got a EMTB which is still
unlikely though more likely use case for myself.
