No, Apple never told people, that it is "good for them" not to have an aux jack. They just said, that there are better alternatives, like Bluetooth, since many people don't like to use cables anyway. And even Fairphone removed the aux jack with the Fairphone 4 - and Fairphone is the company, which offers phones easy to repair and sustainable. So to say Fairphone is just following apple, because they are greedy and want to sell their cloud service is a bit far fetched.
