It was quite handy when > faced with over $200k hospital bill and it was covered. > > If your family never needs it, good for you. yep. nationally available health care shouldn't be an issue in such a rich society. especially when one accident or illness can get you into trouble and when you are in trouble you are vulnerable to all sorts of other issues (like being unconscious where you can't give or withhold consent). let alone if you look at how much overhead all those different systems and companies impose on the same services and all that paperwork and duplicated computer systems and layers of regulations for each state and etc. etc. well it isn't any big surprise that we pay more for less. but don't mention those facts to Leo as he'll go into right wing rabid orbit.
