Did I do a CRAP poll last month? I think I forgot to do one! Does that
mean I have to do two this month? What is the protocol for this sort
of situation? ;-)

This time, here's a simple question:

-----------

You're a PC gamer, cool. But what hardware are you playing those PC
games on?

     a) A Desktop: The classic PC. That small-footprint wedge
of (probably) black plastic and steel. It might not
have much in the way of grunt, but it gets the job
        done.

     b) A Laptop: Portability is the key; modern laptops have
enough horsepower to play most modern games (even if
you maybe gotta turn the settings down from ultra)
and you can take it with you wherever. Best of both
        worlds, baby!

     c) A Big honkin' Tower: It's ungainly and doesn't fit in
with /anybody's/ decor, but damn if you can't fit in
six hard-disks, three GPUs, and give it more lighting
than the Eiffel tower (not that you necessarily have
any of that... but you COULD).

     d) Steam Deck (or similar). A dedicated gaming device
that makes even Nintendo Switch owners swoon. It's
got (nearly) all the compatibility of a real PC, you
can carry it in one hand, and even -if you really
really had to- run work apps on it.

     e) Mobile device via streaming. Phones and tablets are
where it's at. Everyone has one anyway, so why pay
for a second device? You get all the same games
streamed to you from the cloud without having to
worry about bothering with Windows or Linux

     f) A Server Rack: Don't tell the boss you're using all
his expensive hardware to run video games. Anyway,
        you're not really /playing/; you're stress-testing
        the gear. ;-)

     g) Big Iron: Can it run Crysis? This fucker calculates
moonshots; Crysis barely makes it sweat. It's got
sixteen thousand CPUs; it's only fair a few of them
        get used for gaming.

     h) A Macintosh. Which means I don't really play games. ;-)

     i) PC Games? I play [console/mobile/tabletop/anything-
        but-PC-titles] only! Nerd.

-----------

Probably not surprising anybody, I'm definitely a category (c) person.
I like big towers and I cannot lie. If I'm sitting down to play, it's
probably going to be on my tower PC. I like the spaciousness of the
thing; the ease of upgradability. Sure, desktops (and even laptops)
offer something in that area, but when it comes to fiddlin' with the
hardware, a tower is the best.

Where do you fall? What best describes the hardware you most use to
play your PC games?

The results of this CRAP poll will not be tallied. That's too much
like work.
