Can anyone get this to work?

https://math.la.asu.edu/~kawski/kawski.html

Just download and unpack the zip file. Then execute
with:

appletviewer index.html

Of course a java sdk needs to be installed, but most distros
should have it.

It is reported to work but it fails on my system.

And no I don't to use the CheerpJ Applet Runner. It is
stupid and idiotic to run software in a fucking browser.

C'mon lackeys. Prove your worth. How can I get this
working?
