Oops! I forgot to describe how I discovered LERC.

The folks that create libtiff, the universal TIFF image reader/writer,
had decided to include LERC as a compression option:

https://libtiff.gitlab.io/libtiff/

Probably most image processing software in the world uses
libtiff. The fact that they have include LERC is quite significant.

But what does a fucking childish gamer know?

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
