The Xeon W-2223 is selling for -- by the reputable suppliers who still have it in stock -- $250 and up. But then one would require a motherboard and these seem to have fallen off the market. The fucking commercial computer market is totally insane. There are new chips released every quarter and the "old" models are falling off just as fast. Not too long ago, one could pick up obsolete stuff easily and cheaply but not anymore. Sellers are not willing to stock anything but the "latest and greatest." However, if my Hong Kong supplier comes through, I will have a great system for comparatively dirt cheap. Furthermore, the GNU/Linux OS will make it perform to its utmost. -- Systemd: solving all the problems that you never knew you had.
