Why do you repeatedly build an unoptimized and totally generic
kernel to use with an unoptimized and mainstream distro?

It makes no sense.

The REAL GNU/Linux user will understand his hardware and then
build a custom kernel to match. He will then build the rest
of his system to also tightly fit both the hardware and his
desires.

Only GNU/Linux allows this.

All the other poor dumb bastards are completely at the mercy
of Microslop/Apphole.
