There are, I have heard but not experienced, web sites that rank
GNU/Linux distros.

All I can say is "Fuck You" to such click bait garbage.

The two best GNU/Linux distros are the following:

Linux From Scratch

https://www.linuxfromscratch.org/

Gentoo

https://www.gentoo.org/

Both of these distros have been going for a LONG, LONG time,
but if either of them should fail then GNU/Linux would be
in SERIOUS trouble because it would be a sign that the very
best users have fallen for the hype of the mainstream junk
distro.
