C'est normal, le concept venait d'être inventé et pas complètement 
formalisé. Cela arrivera par la suite sans aucun soucis.

C'est très courant ce genre de trucs en maths. Regarde les débuts de la 
formalisation des infinitésimaux par exemple, ou la conceptualisation 
des nombres complexes, ou plus ancien la révélation de l'existence de 
quantité qui ne puissent être mise en rapport avec des quotients d'entiers.

Il n'y a pas de quoi en faire un plat.
