I need to engage in reconcilation? No. I don't think it is right to invite people to the country, THEN tell them "oh yeah, the land is stolen, we need to make up for it.". Well, if sovreignty was never ceded, if that is what you are telling me, and I AM told this at work, officially(!), why do you, as a White "colonist" continue to invite others to use this land? Are the indegenous OK with immigration into Australia? If they are, then what is the problem here? Australians want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to share the country with the world, while simultaneously trying to reconcile the fact they "stole" the land. If it was indeed stolen, what right do we have to give it to others? If we've gotten past it, and now we do rightfully have land, then MOVE ON and stop dwelling on it. Could you imagine me muscling in on your house, then inviting others to rent a room, and tell them the room is stolen, while trying simultaneously to bring in more flatmates for my profit?
