I did not say that Democratic administrations had reduced the debt, I said they had reduced the deficit, while Republican adminsistrations tend to increase the deficit (which is the derivative of the debt). Republicans make a lot of noise about debt and deficits, but are unwilling to collect the taxes needed to finance the expenses that they want to maintain.
