This feature is opt-in, off by default; both your node and the bridge node will refuse to bridge to the Internet unless you request it. The bridge is a full participant in SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and TLS in both directions. Yes, you can get Internet email straight to your Raspberry Pi without having to open any ports now!
