Je n'ai pas lu l'article (non abonné, aucune envie de m'abonner).
Comme le montrent les langues pour lesquelles l'orthographe a été 
réformée avec succès (italien, espagnol), la simplification n'empêche 
pas les quasi-analphabètes d'écrire d'une façon quasi-incompréhensible.

Simplifier l'orthographe serait souhaitable, mais il est difficile de 
savoir où s'arrêter. Le petit livre de Raymond Quenaud intitulé "Plumons 
l'Oiseau" montre qu'une réforme mal conduite est pire que le mal 
initial. Elle peut rendre la langue totalement illisible.
