Oui.

Kindergarten, c'est la première année de scolarisation aux US.

Nursery, c'est comme une garderie, surtout pour les bambins qui ne sont 
pas encore propres, etc.

Cela dépend.  Aux US, on dit, le plus souvent maintenant, "pre-school" 
pour les enfants qui ont au moins trois ans.  Mais il y a aussi 
"daycare" pour parler des garderies.
