There must be an English word for such act. Either a verb, or an
adjective "being something". In Persian we have a short phrase for it
and a longer saying, not a succinct word (as far as i know - haven't
been in touch with those who're very good in Persian). But if there's a
word in English for the verb or adjective describing it, I cannot find
it in the dictionaries and thesauruses.

If there's actually not an English word for it, then somebody needs to
create it cause that kind of act is getting pretty common in this land
of the brave, especially in news media and politics talk. It's even
seeping into completely unrelated media, like this COLA of yours.

"facetious", for instance, comes just a bit close, but still is far from
an adjective for exactly that act. It really only describes a tiny
aspect of it.

In psychology (I just referred to my outline of the course I made
decades back) the act is, in a limited way, recognized but doesn't have
a single word name. It uses two words which without the context is
difficult to understand the meaning (Confirmation Bias). It points only
to cases which the actor is also sincere, not when he deliberately does
it for gross omission of other aspects of the act about which he's
negatively sensitive. So, at least up to a few decades back, I don't
think English language had a single word for it. But by now, there could
well be one in use.

Any of you Bozos know that word? If not, you're entitled to drop your
pants and finger yourselves while saying, "Mama, gimme som'dat milk".
