THERE'S YOUR problem, asswipe, Skewers are meant to make things easier
to handle, asswipe, NOT TO BURN, asswipe!!

In my, and I think MOST people's, dictionaries, 'skewer' basically means 
to STAB, possible to make cooking/burning them easier, but not 
necessarily to BURN, asswipe!!
