Everyone always picks on them. No, the greedy scum at Epic *wanted* to be on the Apple App Store, but simply didn't want to pay for the privilege nor stick to the rules, like everyone else does. Plus, proving even further how petty they are, Epic stopped having many Mac apps on their own Epic games store in retribution. Similarly with the other two or three companies complaining about the App Store rules.
