I strongly suspect the 5Ah pack uses higher capacity cells - which ALMOST ALWAYS means lower max current rating - so you likely made the right move. ------------------------------- 5S x 2P means two columns (Parallel) each stacked 5 cells high (Series), thus the output is 5 times the individual cell voltage and the current is twice it.
