That was my experience with the last provider who offered Usenet (in the 
early or mid 2000's). They contracted to another company for Usenet, I would 
tell them that Usenet was NOT working and they would refer me to the 
contracting company who NEVER responded. That's when I went with the German 
outfit (which eventually became individual.net and became a paid service). I 
tried to pay them but the billing outfit they were using didn't like 
something about my debit card — so I ended up going to eternal-september 
(another German outfit). I've been with them ever since.
