I have one of those cheap Godox RT16 trigger receiver things which I 
picked up on eBay for about £12 - it has a 3.5mm jack, so it plugs 
straight in to my Godox flash head, and a 1/4 inch jack adaptor, which 
plugs in to any of my Bowens Monolite / Bo-Lite things.

If I am using more than one strobe, I just use monocells to trigger 
them, although you can daisy chain the cables - or you can buy a set 
with a trigger and 3 receivers for about £50

The trigger sits on the shoe of my EOS 80D, but I also have a short 
adaptor cord so it fits my aged Mamiya RB67 and Pentx 6X7 too ..

Even though its made by Godox (or labelled Godox - I suspect it’s 
actually a Neewer product)), it doesn’t seem to want to communicate with 
the wireless triggering on the Godox flash head, and apparently I need a 
different trigger system which plugs in to the USB port of flash head. I 
am told that this is a well documented problem and there are some long 
threads about it on photo.net

I am not sure what you mean by "vintage gear" but .. 40 year old 
Monolites don’t have any remote control facilities, so the features 
provided by these latest smart trigger systems are never going to be used
