Jan is right about the propensity of the US to go into unnecessary and 
unjustifiable conflicts around the world, though. Vast sums of money 
squandered on these ridiculous and ultimately futile escapades. Just think 
what all that cash could have been better spent on. Those roads and 
bridges could use a bit of attention!
