It's been many years, and I don't know if it's still the same, but I remember riding a sidepath outside Des Moines, Iowa that had a stop sign for cyclists at every driveway crossing. Similarly, when a vaguely similar on-road sidepath was first put into our local metropark, they had stop signs for bicyclists at each and every one of the 13 pull-off scenic view parking spaces. They also had rows of 8" thick bollards before and after those parking spaces, that cyclists had to squeeze through. I used to wonder what sort of cyclist would think something like that was a good idea. Now I know. -- - Frank Krygowski
