Nobody ever adopted it, and there's rather too much around to make 
practical to use it as a currency.

Money is just an abstraction, invented to serve a medium of exchange. 
Using lumps of rare metals as the medium of exchange made it more 
difficult for people to cheat, but block-chains serve the same purpose.

We need governments with enough sense to see it that way - not that 
there's much chance of that.
