According to me, it does not necessarily cause an increase in kinetic energy, especially if we're talking about the height of the center of gravity (or center of mass) for a bicycle+rider. You were claiming more KE by lowering the center of gravity, were you not? So did you try what I suggested, standing while balancing your bike at zero speed, then sitting down?
