The charging coil is going wrapped around the periphery of the car - the more receiving area you have the better it works. The thieves that rip it off will have to make a lot more noise and move a lot more bulk than the ones that go after catalytic converters. Catalytic converter theft doesn't seem to be a thing in Sydney.
