Because even if your mate Klaus Schwab gets his way and abolishes cash 
transactions, it will still be possible to *exchange* gold for whatever 
you need. Gold ain't going away and if they try to make it illegal it'll 
just become more valuable - like everything else they've tried that stupid 
and counterproductive idea on.
