Yeah, I am truly not a romance fan myself, yet their Kate Daniels books 
and Innkeeper books don't feel romance-centered to me. If you are even 
more sensitive to romance cooties than I am, they may not work for you, 
but I do recommend trying the first Kate Daniels book out if you're at 
all interested in trying their work.
