Now that we've established how the dumb-terminal brain-dead iOS does it, how do you think Android re-installs apps, Jolly Roger, with all the app icons, widgets, homescreen folders & even the data itself in EXACTLY the same locations on the new phone as they were on the old phone. I'll wait for you to tell us... HINT: No need for the Internet (i.e., no Google, no login, no cloud). It just works.
