The Brisbane in 2028 bid is considering changing its dates from August
24-28 to July 27-31.

The reason for this is a total solar eclipse which will happen over
Australia on July 22. The change would make it more practical for
visitors to Australia to witness the eclipse and attend the con.

Brisbane is off the path of totality by several hundred kilometers. This
means people will have to travel if they want to see the total eclipse,
but it also means the area of the con shouldn't be too swamped by
eclipse tourists.
