Just in case it's not clear to ghodawalaaman, do note that, while there can be and are (as is the case with Eternal-September) server-specific hierarchies and other non-USENET groups, USENET "proper" in general is federated across servers, and posts to these groups will find their way across different servers. (That's a great thing in how USENET works and also something at which USENET appears to be much better than at least Mastodon, especially how groups behave vs. "hashtags".) There are exceptions and issues and it's good to be aware of them, just pointing out that messages propagating across servers is what one would expect here. (One of the exceptions has already been mentioned: the use "binary" groups have gotten has led to servers that only provide access to the so-called text groups; another exception is if a server does not carry a group (for example, it is new and some server did not create it locally).) Welcome to USENET, the interface-agnostic, distributed, decentralized text-based discussion system! Where a client could use Comic Sans and animated Wordart to render posts, but where you can also hook up a terminal and use that too! (Should I mention Gmane and Gwene too? If you're new to network news, that might be something interesting to learn about: point your newsreader to news.gmane.io and see mailing lists and RSS feeds.) -- Nuno Silva
