Sure, a company might pay more per hour, but have "cheaper" benefits. Years ago, a Kodak plant in Colorado paid lower wages, but their benefits were quite good. I might add when shareholders are involved, they increase the business cost forever. For instance, when a government builds a building, its paid for via taxpayers or bonds, but with shareholders' money, the building never gets paid off. Market rate tends to be associated with goods or services, btw
