Only Apple mobile devices are designed from the start as dumb terminals. Apple DESIGNED the iPad/iPhone as a dumb terminal. Devoid of everything you like about it WITHOUT logging into the mainframes. Without logging into Cupertino's mainframe servers 24/7/365 , the iOS device is devoid of basic functionality that you expect from Apple.
