I've seen ads for other more specialized "escape" tools, ones including a seat belt cutter, maybe a whistle or other gizmos. They exist; but lots of weird and useless commercial products exist. And I disagree with your use of "often" and "common" and "popular." I think such "trapped" incidents are very rare. (Anyone here ever been trapped in their car?) ISTM some people search the internet and find one or two worldwide anecdotes about a phenomenon, then decide it's "common." That's bad logic.
