You're right - I'd forgotten that. She left in 2004 and then returned 
for the final two episodes in 2009. So that means it was 9 years, 
rather than the 13 I posted above.

It also wasn't quite 160 episodes. Looking through the IMBD.com list, 
there are a few that say "credit only", so probably didn't actually 
appear on-screen in thosee episodes.

Yep. Charlie (played by Derek Thompson) was on the show from the start, 
but left earlier this year. The actor recently appeared in most of the 
season 2 episodes of the Irish police drama "Blue Lights".
