Plastic.  It's 3 years old now, and I have a second one in case of 
failure.  The guy who replaced my battery put some scratches in it (I 
don't hold it against him -- the job was a real bitch), but they seem to 
be healing themselves and are certainly not a problem.

The ones I had for previous phones were harder to apply, had more 
bubbles, and lifted at the edge.  This one went on easily and was 
bubble-free.  No idea how they do that.  Got it from Ebay. 
"Professional SCREENGUARD  THE GREATEST GUARDER FOR LCD SCREEN"  but 
they're probably all the same.

My phone is mostly on the table next to my computer.  I've dropped it 
only once (maybe twice) since I've had it, and that was on a rug.
