Recall isn't spyware unless it reports data back to MS or others without
telling the user. Got any evidence it does?

In general, OS users of whatever stripe (Windows Linux or Mac) never
actually know what their OS is doing.

What, you think malware can't be installed on Linux that hides its
activities or disguises them with innocuous file and process names that
few people would ever catch?

Lookup hidepid.

do
$ps -e

Do you recognize every process?

I just did it on my WSL Ubuntu install.
It lists:
PID CMD
250 subiquity-serve
253 unattended-upgr

Never heard of them.

Did you review all the open source code, and compile it all yourself?

Fact is, very few Linux users even know if the distro they install was
actually built with the exact source files at the distro maker.

MS/Windows hides *everything* inside compiled, proprietary code. And
who tf knows what's happening in all those 'Service Host' processes.

It's all based on trust.

And I'm not worried. I definitely trust MS and Linux distros not to
collect or sell personally-identifying data.
