The Debian side is notably faster at compiling than using MSYS2 on the Win side. Installing the Brother printer driver was even easier in Debian than it was on Arch (via AUR)... it's just an apt-get call. I do still have one issue that has resisted all my efforts at trouble-shooting... I can SSH into the WI-6 (Debian) from my other boxes, but I cannot SSH from the WI-6 to the others (but the WI-6 works fine with the SSH interface to GitHub). Haven't tried it from Windows yet. Firewall? No. Wrong port? No. SSH servers? All running fine. Can't even ping the other laptops (but can ping google).
