And sometimes something like that *may* work in bash, too, provided we set: $ shopt -s lastpipe But my command doesn't work instead, in bash. That's why: | lastpipe | If set, and job control is not active, the shell runs the last command | of a pipeline not executed in the background in the current shell | environment. -- Bye, Lem
