This episode was just bad all around. Jimmy Olson needed to pull Riley aside
and slap some sense into him. Just because you're related to someone doesn't
mean you bail them out of every constant mess they make of their lives.

Courtroom Absurdity of the Week: Starbuck has the wife of the murder victim on
the stand who has testified that the watch found in the defendant's desk was
her husband's watch. Starbuck starts going on about how many Rolexes were
manufactured by the company and how many of that model were sold that year.
And of course Price doesn't object, even though those are all facts that have
to be proven, not just stated by the defense lawyer. If Starbuck wanted the
jury to know that 1200 Rolexes of that exact same make and model were sold in
New York in 2024, then she'd have to call someone from the Rolex company to
testify to those facts. She can't just assert them herself in front of the
jury.

I'm amused how Benson is now not just a cop, but a therapist for every
victim.

In this episode, we have the rape victim's friend find her drowning her
sorrows at a bar and what does she do? She calls Benson. I mean, think about
that. You find your friend getting drunk at a bar and you call the cops. How
is this in any way a police matter. And Benson, who's now a captain and
running an entire division drops everything in the middle of the work day to
go and be cloyingly empathetic to a girl getting drunk in a bar.
