Maybe like a flying fish on land. The Cursorial theory on the origins of powered flight in birds always made a great deal more sense than the Arboreal. Amongst the obvious facts is that birds are so well adapted to the ground that flightless birds -- secondarily flightless -- began evolving relatively quickly!
