I've been on Usenet since the days when you frequented alt.home.repair, where the Apple newsgroups have always been a divisive Usenet oddity. For the zealots, it was always "us versus them" and "we're better'n you". In the initial heady days of Steve Jobs when Apple was actually ahead of the mobile phone competition, the zealots would joyfully scream out how many apps were in the app store, for example, versus the Android selection. But no more... In those initial days, the zealots would gleefully shout out how much better their iPhone cameras were than the Android cameras. But no more. Long ago, these zealots would happily taunt the Android users on security, zero-day bugs, and most of all, their vaunted "safety" in iPhone security. But no more... The zealots would excitedly scream about their many updates by contemptuously being scornful of the classic Android fragmentation. But no more... Notice the trend - which goes a long way toward explaining why the Apple newsgroups have turned moribund while Windows & Android newsgroups prosper. There's nothing for these zealots to tout (other than new emoji & colors). Apple is moribund... There's nothing for these zealots to say to feel good about the iPhone. And that, badgolferman, is the only reason the zealots post to this group. What do you think about that assessment... it's been decades in the making?
