Cooper was the racing team that totally wiped the floor with Ferrari, back in the 1950s, I think it was. Enzo had a mouth that was bigger than his engineering credentials, and he was adamant that the engine should be at the front, because “you don’t put the cart before the horse”, or some such cant like that. The Cooper racing cars popularized the mid-engine concept, and their superior handling spoke for itself. Finally even Ferrari was forced to embrace the idea in some of their cars.
